I'm teaching a free class at the Idyllwild Library called AI for Everyone, and everyone is welcome.

What this class is

AI is everywhere in the news right now, and most of what you hear falls into one of two extremes: either it's going to solve everything, or it's dangerous and we should all be afraid. This class offers a calmer middle path.

AI is different from earlier tools because it speaks our language. It can write, summarize, explain, plan, and answer questions in plain English. That makes it powerful and useful, but also sometimes unsettling. It can sound human, but it does not have human judgment.

This beginner-friendly session will help you understand what AI actually is, what it isn't, how it can help with everyday tasks, and how to use it safely. No technical background needed, just bring your questions.

The core message

AI will enhance humans, if humans stay in charge.

AI should make you more capable, not more dependent. It should help you ask better questions, not stop asking them.

Who I am

I've been doing hands-on tech support in Idyllwild since 2002 through MyGeekMac, helping people with computers, phones, email, backups, and everyday digital headaches. I've also completed Outskill's AI Generalist training and spend my time building and testing practical AI tools. My approach is calm, plain-English, and safety-first, no hype, no jargon.
